Az-Zukhruf 43:56

Meccan · The Ornaments of Gold

فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ سَلَفًا وَمَثَلًا لِّلْـَٔاخِرِينَ

And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples
